Last night our Canary Wharf Training Academy opened its doors to Alumni and Alumni Pro, our interns and the MThree head office for a night of expert discussion on XVA trading.
Hosted by MThree’s Head of Risk, Regulatory and Compliance, Anthony Ginn, the evening’s talk took attendees through a summary of the evolution of risk management, the 2008 Global Financial Crisis the regulatory changes it ushered in and an overview of risk management techniques. Attendees were then taken through the essentials of:
- The creation of the XVA desk
- Balance sheet adjustments
- XVA risk management
To close, Anthony took questions from the audience on topics including the impact of Brexit on risk management and the ring-fencing legislation coming into force for financial services organisations in 2019.
Anthony has a wealth of experience across front and back office functions within Investment Banking, having worked for the likes of Royal Bank of Scotland, Barclays and Norddeutsche Landesbank.
As part of our Alumni Graduate Programme we run a calendar of events throughout the year. This ensures that as well as having the opportunity to network and socialise outside of work, our Alumni can take advantage of both our in-house knowledge and external industry experts to continue to learn more about their field.
