During his Masters Degree in Geographic Information Science at University College London, Vasilios Kalogirou completed his dissertation which has broken new ground in combining the functionality of two types of software; MongoDB and QGIS. Since completing the project, gaining a Distinction in his Master Degree and joining MThree as an Alumni Associate, Vasilios was able to display his project at the Geographical Information Science Research UK conference at The University of Manchester.
The GISRUK conference welcomes thought leaders in Geographical Information Science from the academic community along with delegates from Government and commercial sectors. To be recognised and selected to have his work presented among the proceedings is a huge compliment to the value and quality of work which Vasilios has created.
Congratulations Vasilios from all here at MThree! This is a true testiment to your hard work both at University and since joining the Alumni Programme at Bank of America Merrill Lynch.
“I was very happy to present and publish my project at the conference as it is the largest Geographic Information Science conference in the UK. Also, as my aim was to develop and deliver a plugin to other users, this was an opportunity to further share my work and highlight the importance of open-source software and tools to the public.”
Vasilios Kalogirou, Alumni Associate and Application Developer at Bank of America Merrill Lynch.
