On Wednesday we ran our first Alumni Women of Influence Event - connecting a group of female STEM undergraduates with our Alumni population to discuss the scope of their future careers within technology.
We were grateful to be able to host young women from an organisation called STEMettes. STEMettes is a social enterprise set up to inspire the next generation of women into Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths careers. Their mission is to increase the UK’s female workforce from the current percentage of 21%, to over 30%+.
Our Women Of Influence Event involved discussion around the wider STEMettes mission of how to address the lack of female population studying and working in the UK’s Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths vocations. Women from various locations and Universities across the UK visited us to present their case studies and share their stories, while we were able to touch upon the types STEM and technology careers available within the MThree Alumni Programme.
Olivia Ward (Production Support Associate), Hana Ismail (Technology & Business Management Associate), and Sehreen Qureshi (Business Management Associate) were able to share their experiences of working within technology for our clients as part of the MThree Alumni programme. This seemed to excite one undergraduate in particular - who applied to join the programme right there on the spot!
We’re constantly looking for ways to engage with future female leaders in business and in tech. If you would like to participate at our next event, please get in contact with Maja Zuza at MThree Alumni.
